Victory at WSU

Our friends at the Anti-Racist Blog are no longer online, at least for the moment. But last month marked a victory for them when the Wayne State University chapter of the Anti-Racist Action Network “officially decided” that they were ending their “Palestine solidarity campaign” at the Detroit campus, in the form of an anti-Israel divestment campaign. ("ARA Ends Divestment Campaign").

The ARA wanted "to stress that ARA was always an expression of an important strand of militancy both in the Arab and Muslim community and in the anti-imperialist and anti-racist social justice community." But no one at WSU gave a damn.

By contrast, our friends at the Anti-Racist Blog fought to expose the anti-Semitism and jihadist sympathies of the ARA Network.

The ARA Network describes itself on their website as an “international” group working “hard to ‘expose, oppose, and confront’ hate,” as well as fighting against all the usual isms, while at the same time standing courageously for “building a fun, diverse, liberated and explicitly anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-homophobic youth culture.” And, of course, they claim they’re against Nazis wherever they find them: “Whenever fascists are organizing or active in public, we're there. We don't believe in ignoring them or staying away from them. Never let the nazis have the street!”

Or at least, never let the Nazis have the whole street--or maybe share the street. Aw, heck, the truth is, the ideologically incoherent ARA Network is just hunky-dory with all kinds of thoroughly Nazi-compatible philosophies like Margaret Sanger’s genocide-through-abortion scheme, (and how exactly does abortion help Palestinians?), Jew-hatred, and the teachings and agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood, the historical allies of the Third Reich.

As the local ARA blog admits, the high point of their “campaign” at WSU “was perhaps our confrontation of Daniel Pipes in October of last year,” which impressed few but those in the ARA choir. (“Don’t Know Much About History”).

Good riddance. And Congratulations to our friends at the Anti-Racist Blog!
