We of Dearborn Underground are citizens of a patriotic, Midwestern American small town whose culture, local government, and especially its media, have been overrun by a cartel of bullies who've demanded that the only voices heard in Dearborn will be their voices: the voices of CAIR and the ADC--the voice of Al Jazeera--the voice of global Islamic Jihad. As a consequence, the voices of Dearborn’s majority, maybe even your voice, have been silenced and excluded from the public forum by editors and gatekeepers, perhaps from terror of being accused of Islamophobia. We have no desire to silence Dearborn's Muslims, but their leaders insist that our opinions, or any opinions that offend them, must be censored. Muslim activists have even persuaded state legislators to introduce a resolution intended to criminalize criticism of Islam in the press.
We at Dearborn Underground are trying to resist some of that. We don't know what's wrong with our leaders, our legislators, our newspapers, if it's that they're they're scared of beng called names, craven political opportunists, or just Costco-sized weenies. We don't care any more. We'll speak for ourselves now.
We don't hate anybody, we aren't anti-immigrant, we aren't religious bigots, and most of us are even rather pleasant if you got to know us. But we also know that our country is under attack by determined enemies--enemies who boast openly about what they've got in mind for us and our allies, namely, a grim choice between death and Sharia law.
But many of the same threats and lies spouted by religious leaders way over there in Tehran, in Gaza, or in videos from Pakistan, are being said right here in Dearborn by Muslim leaders, and it isn't even covered as news.
It's become a commonplace to pick up the local papers and read Islamic advocates waving Hezbollah flags, apologists for 9/11, or activists who have openly called for the Muslims to provide material support for global Jihad, who've been handed uncritical access to the media --so they can give free voice to their opinions, their versions of the truth, along with bullying demands that no one dare criticize Islam in Dearborn.
And no one does, which may be wonderful for someone's idea of multiculturalism, but it's a capital crime against free speech.
That's why here where we are--somewhere beneath the sunny streets of Dearborn--a handful of us who've decided we're not going to worry about that any more about being called racists, Islamophobes, and warmongers. We've moved past caring about political correctness, compassion as a suicide pact, and a willingness to surrender our free-speech and religion rights in exchange for worthless promises that lots of people who hate our country, hate our religion, and hate everything else we are and stand for, just might agree to hate it slightly less if we submit.
We at DU intend to express opinions that aren't being heard in public in Dearborn right now, and offer some Dearborners'-eyes thoughts on what's going on in our own town, in our schools, our newspapers, our courts--thoughts that we don't intend to run past the ADC or CAIR minders for their approval first.
So we hope this blog can be a place to talk about some of the things happening in Dearborn that don't get reported in the news--but should be--or are so badly reported as to be downright misleading--or are simply being explained away by Islamic opinion-makers and professional ventriloquists. Maybe we'll even attract some other Dearborn people to come out of the shadows, come out from under their beds, and rejoin the public forum we've been kept out of these last few years. If you're one of those, we'd love to hear from you.
We're Dearborn Underground, and we'd love to hear from you at http://www.contactify.com/dd68d .
And stay tuned. We're just getting started.
