Another Dry Run, and Yet Another Malik Shabazz

Here’s another one documenting the years-long jihadist dry-run campaign. And another Malik Shabazz, which brings us to three. This kid is looking at five years in prison for this, so I'm not inclined to believe he's just a prankster.

This may be useful in those family arguments with people who don’t believe there is any terrorist threat.

Man charged with impersonating FBI agent

A 19-year-old Washington, D.C. man has appeared in federal court on a complaint alleging he told officials at Great Falls International Airport that he had a firearm in his carry-on bag and was an employee of the FBI. Malik Hannabal Shabazz made an initial appearance Monday before U.S. Magistrate Robert Holter on a complaint alleging false impersonation of an officer and making false statements. He is detained.

FBI Agent Francis J. Donato II said Shabazz told him he pretended to be an FBI agent and claimed he had a gun to observe the response of airport personnel.

Shabazz was arrested Friday after trying to board a United Airlines flight. According to court documents, he was dressed in a short-sleeved, collared shirt with an FBI seal and another s e a l t h a t r e a d "Washington Field Office, FBI Junior Academy." Court records also say the man produced an ID card that he insisted allowed him to carry a firearm onto the plane. Shabazz was allowed onto the jet bridge, but he was prevented from boarding. It was later learned that he did not check a bag and did not have a gun.

Oh, and here's hoping the FBI's fabled skill at gleaning intelligence from criminal suspects better than the CIA might actually find out who this kid was working for.
